Follow along with our instructor step-by-step to create a painting made by you! Teacher and theme to be announced soon. All ages welcome, but ages 9 – adult will experience the best results. Bottled soda choices will be available for all painters! $15 per person, all ages. Fee is non-refundable even if paintings aren't completed, so make sure your kiddo is up to the challenge before signing up!

Teachers and home-schoolers are welcome at this after-hours event to preview and sign up to borrow our handmade curriculum kits for classroom use! Check out the kits (including Geography, Math + Art, and Recycled Art), network with other educators, and try a project or two. Simple refreshments will be available to nosh while you meet new people and sign up to use Adventure! To Go boxes in the new school year.

Learn how the Kalapuya lived, hunted, and gathered throughout this region and what became of the tribe. This event will welcome grown-ups only to an evening of spirits and hors d'oeuvres, raffle baskets, a presentation about the expansion, and the opportunity to test out the exhibits. The goal for the evening is to kick off fundraising for our large expansion area and invite the community to support this exciting project that will more than double the exhibit space at the museum. Tour of the expansion space included.

Spend an hour with Lulu Dorris as she recalls the toys, books, plays, clothes and other items from this era that were precursors to some of the items we use today. Monday August 1st, kids 7-12 can build a pvc bow with soft-tipped arrows, learn to nock their arrows to hit a target, and practice wilderness survival skills!

On Wednesday August 3rd, kids 7-12 can practice orienteering, map making (cartography) and code-writing!

Friday August 5th is Mini Adventure! Camp for kids 3-6. Pitch tents, build little boats, eat s'mores, and more!

Adventure! strikes the Lane County Fair! Find us in Discovery Park, where you can discover, weigh, measure, and record fossil finds! Then step into a bustling newspaper office where you can use typewriters, cameras, and a printing press to report on all the news that’s fit to print! File your news story with the editor-in-chief and see it in the on-line edition!

The Springfield Children’s Celebration is back! Come on a building adventure with boxes, tubes, cardboard connectors, and art supplies. Build a kid-sized village out of boxes, and a tiny structure to take home!

What happens next? You decide! This writing event for 2nd – 7th graders lets kids write the next chapter! Younger kids who want in on the fun can come draw a story; parents or adult volunteers can help write the words! Completed work from both sessions will be compiled into a book; each participant recieves a copy; others will be available for purchase.

It’s the 5th annual Mini Maker Faire and we’re excited to host a booth for Adventure! Interested in helping make an exhibit for our museum? We’ll be using recycled materials to build exhibit pieces as well as take home creations!
