Paper Maché Faux Taxidermy (part one of two sessions) // 6:15 to 8:15 pm // Join Amelia in making a small paper maché wall-hanging taxidermy of a rabbit or a deer! Wall plaques measure approximately 8" x 7.5". All materials provided. This project will take 2 sessions to complete. Second session is December 6th. ($25 or 5 old school / new school punches for non-members; $18 for members. Cost includes both sessions. Requires moderate to expert crafting skills.)

The October sessions will be marked by Lego experts teaching new techniques, group builds, brick films viewing, raffles, and mini-build competitions. Minifigure take-homes and Lego prizes are staples of our Wednesday League nights.

• ADVENTURE! FAMILY HALLOWEEN PARTY & PUMPKIN AUCTION!
Saturday • October 21 • 5 pm – 7 pm • 490 Valley River Center • $1 – $5 donation suggested
Join us October 21 at 5 pm for carnival games, photo opportunities, crafts, Halloween origami, and, the centerpiece of the event, our 2nd Annual Pumpkin Auction! Families can bid on decorated, carved, and plain pumpkins in our fun and exciting pumpkin auction, and take home their winnings at the end of the event. (Scarecrow stuffing race may take place this year if enough participants sign up.)
Cost:
• Event entrance is by donation (suggested $1 to $5 per person) and comes with 5 activity tickets per person. Activity tickets are good for use at carnival games, the food booth, and raffle drawings. The craft and origami tables do not require tickets.
• Additional tickets can be purchased for 50 cents each and are used for all games, food, and raffles.
• The pumpkin auction is a REAL live auction with real bidding numbers, hooting, and hollering. We accept cash, credit, or debit for pumpkin payment at the close of the auction.
• "Guess How Many Candy Corns" door prize guessing, like the crafts and origami, does not require tickets to participate!
• We will have food and beverages for sale for the price of one or two tickets per item, including pizza, fruit, popcorn, pie, and non-alcoholic drinks.

No masks or hood for adults or teens, please. Non-scary costumes for kids are welcome.

The goal for the evening is to kick off fundraising for our large expansion area and invite the community to support this exciting project that will more than double the exhibit space at the museum. We're bringing the Little Adventure! Press to Sam Bond's to make prints! Come have a pint and make a project! Adventure! Children's Museum keeps $1 from every pint, and we're hoping that'll add up to a whole lot of exhibit-building funds.

Bid on uncarved pumpkins + carved and decorated pumpkins! Scarecrow stuffing competition; Pie eating; Calaveras cookie decorating; Costume craft table; Carnival Games; Costume craft table! Games tickets, food, and drinks available for purchase inside. Admission is by donation.

Join Adventure! Children's Museum staff at Old School Eugene for unique Mini Adventure! Camps!

Monday August 1st, kids 7-12 can build a pvc bow with soft-tipped arrows, learn to nock their arrows to hit a target, and practice wilderness survival skills!

On Wednesday August 3rd, kids 7-12 can practice orienteering, map making (cartography) and code-writing!

Friday August 5th is Mini Adventure! Camp for kids 3-6. Pitch tents, build little boats, eat s'mores, and more!

July 20 – 24 • 10 am – 8 pm • Lane County Fair
Adventure! strikes the Lane County Fair! Find us in Discovery Park, where you can discover, weigh, measure, and record fossil finds! Then step into a bustling newspaper office where you can use typewriters, cameras, and a printing press to report on all the news that’s fit to print! File your news story with the editor-in-chief and see it in the on-line edition!

July 30 • 9:30 am – 4 pm • Springfield Children’s Celebration
The Springfield Children’s Celebration is back! Come on a building adventure with boxes, tubes, cardboard connectors, and art supplies. Build a kid-sized village out of boxes, and a tiny structure to take home!

Come meet some of the artists, see some great art on the theme of Adventure for Kids, buy prints, books, and cards, and have a small bite. You can also meet Adventure! folks and sign up to volunteer at events!

July 13 • 5 – 8 pm • Café Yumm at Oakway Center
No flier required! Just mention Adventure! Children's Museum when ordering, and 25% of your order will be donated to Adventure! Children's Museum! We'll be on hand with a projects for kids and adults (a coloring sheet that folds into an origami boat) and volunteer sign ups for our upcoming events.

• CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE! WRITING ROUND ROBIN pt. 1 // 
June 30 • 1 – 2:30 pm • Springfield Public Library
What happens next? You decide! This writing event for 2nd – 7th graders lets kids write the next chapter! Younger kids who want in on the fun can come draw a story; parents or adult volunteers can help write the words! Completed work from both sessions will be compiled into a book; each participant recieves a copy; others will be available for purchase.

It’s the 5th annual Mini Maker Faire and we’re excited to host a booth for Adventure! Interested in helping make an exhibit for our museum? We’ll be using recycled materials to build exhibit pieces as well as take home creations!

The Bethel neighborhood celebration this year highlights fairytales, folklore and origin stories. Adventure! is happy to present fun projects and activities for all the fairies, goblins, and ogres out there. Make a wand, collect ogre bogies, & more!
